Jaccard-EFP Research Prize competition
The European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) is pleased to announce the Jaccard-EFP Research Prize competition. The Jaccard-EFP Research Prize is aimed with the object of promoting research in Europe. The prize was created with the funds from the ARPA International and is entrusted to the University of Geneva. The prize is awarded once every three years at the meeting of the EFP. It is open to all members of the Periodontal Societies which are part of the European Federation of Periodontology.
The research work must not be previously published or presented in any meeting. The manuscripts should be prepared according to the "Instructions to Authors" of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology as the three best entries will be published in this Journal. Manuscripts should be sent to the Secretary of the EFP (see address below).
Deadline for manuscript submission: November 30th, 2011.
An International Panel will be selected and will select three nominees, based on the quality of the submitted manuscripts, who will participate in the final competition. The nominees for the prize (first authors must present the paper) will be personally informed by the Secretary of the EFP at least three months prior to the date of EuroPerio. Accommodation, travel expenses and registration fee for the selected three nominees will be paid by the EFP. These finalists will present his or her work in a 20 minute oral presentation, followed by a 10 minute discussion period during Europerio 7 in Vienna. The winner will then be selected on the merits of the submitted manuscript, as well as on the oral presentation and the subsequent discussion period. The winner will receive a monetary prize award of Sfr. 10,000 - together with a Certificate of Award.
