The EFP’s Facebook page now has more than 5,000 subscribers
More than 5,000 people follow the EFP on Facebook
The number of subscribers to the EFP’s Facebook page has now passed the 5,000 mark as more and more people sign up to receive daily updates on perio news and science via the social-media platform.
Growth has been consistently strong over recent months – increasing from 2,000 in June 2015 – as perio professionals and others interested in oral-health care have clicked the Facebook “Like” button in order to subscribe.
The most popular recent item has been the June 6 post on the vital connections between periodontitis and general health, which has been seen by 20,600 people.
As well as addressing perio professionals, the EFP’s Facebook page has started to post items directed at patients, and these are proving popular.
Subscribers come from 45 countries, with the biggest numbers of people coming from Spain, Italy, and the United Kingdom. Outside Europe, Mexico, Brazil and India are the biggest countries in terms of subscriber numbers.
Women outnumber men by 54% to 46%, while 47% of subscribers are aged between 18 and 34, and 24% between 35 and 44.
