EFP and its national societies launch photo competition with winners to be showcased at EuroPerio9
1st EFP Photo Contest invites entries in three categories: Healthy gums/healthy life, Dental disease, Extreme/freestyle
The EFP has launched a competition through its affiliated national societies of periodontology to find the best dental photographs – and the winners will be highlighted at EuroPerio9 in Amsterdam in June.
The aim of the 1st EFP Photo Contest is to harness the photographic skills of members of the national societies to achieve three key objectives:
- To strengthen the profile of the national societies and to celebrate their creative contributions to the diverse and colourful whole that is the EFP.
- To engage audiences on-site at EuroPerio9 to support interactivity.
- To obtain quality images for future EFP publications;
The competition is open to all members of participating national perio societies who will be attending EuroPerio9. Would-be participants in the competition can enter as many photographs as they like in three different categories:
- Healthy gums/healthy life;
- Dental disease;
The first stage of the competition is being handled by the national societies, who have informed their members of the contest. The rules have also been published in the EuroPerio9 section of the EFP website.
Contestants have until Monday, February 26 to submit their entries to the national society of which they are a member. Each national society will choose one winning photograph per category and these will represent that country in the final round of the competition, which will be held at EuroPerio9 (Amsterdam, June 20-23).
At EuroPerio9, four prizes will be awarded. Congress attendees will choose one winner in each of the three categories, and an expert jury will award an additional prize.
“We know there are many talented dental professionals who are also very talented dental photographers,” said Michèle Reners, chair of the EuroPerio9 organising committee. “We are sure that there are many excellent photographers who will use this chance to showcase their work at EuroPerio9 in Amsterdam and show the dental world that our national societies are full of creative talent.”
Nearly all affiliated societies have committed to taking part in the 1st EFP Photo Contest. The participating societies are those of: Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Morocco, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine, and the United Kingdom.
