Only one week to register for EuroPerio9 and avoid late-booking fees

The deadline for regular-fee registrations for EuroPerio9 is now just one week away – after June 8, more expensive late and on-site fees apply.
EFP members who register for the Amsterdam congress at the regular rate pay €680, but the fee rises to €810 for late bookings. For non-members, the regular rate is €810, and the late and on-site rate is €930.
For dental hygienists the regular fee is €490 compared with €610, while for students, dental assistants, and nurses, the difference is between €315 and €375.
In addition, organisers advise that registration after June 8 “does not necessarily entitle the participants to receive all the congress materials.”
EuroPerio9, which takes place at RAI Amsterdam from June 20 to 23, offers an unprecedented array of presentations, debates, and other activities focused on periodontal science and clinical practice. It is set to be the world’s biggest congress of periodontology and implant dentistry, with up to 10,000 people expected to attend.
The scientific programme offers 42 sessions with 132 speakers in the main programme, along with 30 sponsor sessions and workshops, and more than 300 moderated abstract and poster presentations. There is also an exhibition, occupying 3,754m2, featuring the congress’s 26 sponsors and 106 other companies.
Highlights include:
- The Perio Talks session, where members of EFP Alumni will give short presentations on what has inspired their professional careers as periodontists;
- Live periodontal surgery (for the first time at a EuroPerio congress);
- A debate session about the global threat of antibacterial resistance;
- A “3D session" on reconstructive surgery at teeth and implants;
- The “nightmare session”, which will discuss the worst cases that periodontists can treat.
- The final of Perio Contest 2018, in which the three finalists chosen by an online poll will present their cases.
Other key sessions include the first formal presentation of the outcomes of last November’s AAP/EFP World Workshop on Classification of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases and Conditions will be presented formally for the first time. And, on the opening day, a joint session with the Japanese Society of Periodontology.
There will be more interactive sessions than in previous congresses and the EuroPerio9 organising committee is giving more prominence in the programme both to younger periodontists and to women as a way of highlighting the diversity of contemporary periodontology in Europe.
The final 332-page scientific programme, which includes details of posters and abstracts presentations, has just been published and can be downloaded from the EFP website.
As well as the programme of lectures and workshops, the congress features an extensive exhibition and an attractive social programme including the always popular Congress Party.
