The Italian Society of Periodontology and Implantology (SIdP) is inviting submissions for its Henry M. Goldman Prize, awarded to original and unpublished scientific papers on periodontology and implant therapy.
Papers for consideration may cover basic research, laboratory research, or clinical research (whether trials or innovative surgical techniques).
They should be written in English, with a maximum of 3,500 words and no more than seven figures and tables. The format should be a short abstract (a maximum of 200 words) followed by the main text divided into five sections: Introduction, Materials & Methods, Results, Conclusions, and Bibliography.
The submitted paper must be original and not previously published or presented at any congress.
The deadlines for submissions – which should be sent in electronic format to email@example.com – is February 11. The prize will be awarded at the SIdP’s 19th International Congress, which takes place in Rimini from March 21 to 23.
Selected papers will be presented, in English, on the first day of the congress, while other manuscripts may be selected for presentation as electronic posters during the event’s Research Forum, which also takes place on March 21.
Two of the presented works – one for basic/laboratory research and the other for clinical research – will be awarded the Henry M. Goldman Prize and the authors will receive the sum of €2,000.
The prize will be awarded by an international panel of experts, nominated by the SIdP executive council, which reserves the right to award no prize or to award prizes to two papers in the same category.
The SIdP is also inviting submissions for its Giorgio Vogel Award for the best clinical case – which should relate to periodontal surgery, implant surgery, or tissue regeneration – and for the M. Cagidiaco Award for papers relating to evidence-based and patient-centred dental-hygiene practice.
The society also invites clinicians and researchers to submit abstracts for consideration for presentation as electronic papers in the Research Forum.
The deadline for all submissions is Monday, February 11. Full details of all prizes and the Research Forum can be found in the “Awards and Scholarships” section of the SIdP website, www.sidp.it.
