Swiss Society of Periodontology invites young dental scientists to take part in research poster competition
The Swiss Society of Periodontology has issued a call for young dental scientists and clinicians to take part in the annual SSP Research Poster Competition, which it has run since 2013.
A selection of eight to 10 posters will be selected by the jury to be presented at the society’s 47th annual meeting in Fribourg on September 14 and 15. The selected candidates will be admitted to the meeting free of charge.
Prizes will be presented to the authors of the two best posters, with a total value of up to CHF 2,000 (€1,870).
“The competition aims to attract younger researchers to the society’s annual congress and give them a platform to present their research work,” said Roland Weiger, secretary of the Swiss Society of Periodontology. “It also serves to give the private practitioners who attend the congress “insight into current research projects of good quality.”
Applications should be in the form of an abstract of no more than 250 words written in English and structured on the basis of the following sections: Background, Material and Methods, Results, Conclusions.
The text should be written as a Word document on a single page of A4, using either the Helvetica or Arial fonts. The title should contain no more than 10 words and be written in font size 14, while the text of the abstract should be in font size 12.
