Swiss perio society calls for entries in research prize
The Swiss Society of Periodontology (SSP) is inviting applications from young dental scientists and clinicians for the 2019 Hans R. Mühlemann Research Prize.
The award recognizes original research in periodontology and related fields and is open to international competition. The winner will receive a cash prize of CHF5,000 (€4,400) and a certificate.
Applicants must be the primary authors of an unpublished original research paper. They should be young and active researchers or clinicians, such as graduate students, assistant professors, or lecturers. Departmental or divisional chairs and experienced researchers holding leadership positions are not allowed to participate.
A scientific jury will choose three to five manuscripts for presentation at the SSP’s annual meeting in Baden on September 12 and 13. The finalists will be invited to give a 15-minute research report on the material presented in the manuscript, followed by a 10-minute discussion.
The winner of the award will be selected based on the quality of the manuscript, the oral presentation, and the management of the discussion.
All invited speakers will receive a diploma and will have free registration, hotel accommodation for two nights, and reimbursement of travel costs up to CHF500.
Applicants are asked to send three copies of their papers to Prof. Dr. Patrick R. Schmidlin, Plattenstrasse 11, CH-8032 Zurich, Switzerland, by July 15.
