Among others, the following measures have been taken by the organizer:

• The selected conference venue has an environmental certification
• The conference centre and all recommended hotels are accessible on foot or by public transport
• Provision of a free public transport ticket to all delegates
• Catering during the congress days is seasonal and regional
• Vegetarian or vegan alternatives are offered for all official catering functions
• Only reusable tableware will be used
• Partnerships primarily with hotels with eco-labels
• Only printing a small “pocket programme” instead of a full programme book to avoid wastage
• All printed matters will be on recycled or chlorine-free bleached paper
• Name badges will not have plastic covers
• Primarily using digital instead of printed signage
• Contracts with industry partners to ensure the industrial exhibition follows environmental guidelines

 

In order to make EP11 truly more eco-friendly we do however need each and every delegate to support our endeavour – small steps can go a long way so we encourage you to follow our tips below:

• Make sure to recycle onsite – we place marked recycling bins around the venue so make sure to bin unavoidable waste the right way.
• Don’t print your QR-Code for onsite registration – you can show it on your phone or another digital device for your badge to be printed onsite.
• Bring your own reusable water bottle to the venue to fill up throughout the day.

 

We encourage all congress participants to choose public travel options when coming to Vienna.

• Make use of the city's fully integrated public transport network during your stay.
