The focus is very much on interdisciplinary work. What are the main challenges that clinicians face in making an interdisciplinary approach work in practice?
The main challenges are communication, timing, and shared treatment planning. Interdisciplinary care requires a common language between specialists, clear sequencing of procedures, and mutual respect for biological limitations. In busy clinical settings, aligning different disciplines around evidence-based protocols remains a real challenge.

Perio Master Clinic 2026 in Baku builds on these foundations by integrating periodontology and implant dentistry with restorative, digital, and interdisciplinary perspectives into a unified educational experience.

The greatest challenges include managing advanced tissue destruction, maintaining patient compliance, and co-ordinating multidisciplinary care over time. Personally, the most complex cases are those combining severe periodontitis with aesthetic demands, orthodontics, and implant-prosthetic rehabilitation, where biological stability must be achieved before any restorative success is possible.
Another key topic is digital workflow and AI-driven tools. What can attendees expect to learn here that can help them in their own clinical practice?
Attendees will learn how digital diagnostics, guided workflows, and emerging AI-supported tools can improve precision, predictability, and communication within the interdisciplinary team. Biography
Cavid Ahmedbeyli is an EFP-certified specialist in periodontology and implant dentistry. He is associate professor at the Aziz Aliyev Azerbaijan State Advanced Training Institute for Doctors and president of the Azerbaijani Society of Periodontology. He is actively engaged in clinical practice, research, and postgraduate education, with a special focus on periodontal and peri-implant diseases. He is chair of the EFP Perio Master Clinic 2026 in Baku and is a member of the EFP communications and engagement committee.
Perio Master Clinic is a triennial EFP conference designed specifically for dental clinicians.
