The call for abstracts for EuroPerio11 has officially closed, and the EFP is thrilled to announce an incredible response: 1656 submissions! This figure places EuroPerio11 nearly on par with the record-breaking submissions from EuroPerio9 (1741) and showcases the enthusiasm for advancing periodontal and oral health research.

EuroPerio11, taking place in Vienna in May 2025, promises to be a landmark event, and these abstracts will form the backbone of the congress' scientific programme. Researchers worldwide seized the opportunity to share their findings, collaborate with peers, and shape the future of periodontology.

The EFP is delighted to recognise the global reach of EuroPerio11. Submissions were received from all corners of the world, reflecting the truly international nature of this premier event. The five countries contributing the most abstracts this year are:

  • Turkey: 202 submissions
  • China: 82 submissions
  • Germany: 76 submissions
  • Spain: 79 submissions
  • Brazil: 69 submissions

There were big increases in participation from China, Malaysia and Taiwan. This global participation underscores the widespread commitment to advancing periodontal research and improving oral health worldwide.

The next milestone is the announcement of accepted abstracts, scheduled for January 2025. Researchers whose work is selected will have the opportunity to present their findings as oral presentations or posters in Vienna, sparking discussions during the congress and driving innovation in the field.

“We extend our heartfelt thanks to all contributors for their dedication and hard work,” said EuroPerio11 chair Anton Sculean. “Your research will enrich the EuroPerio11 programme and inspire the periodontal community to continue pushing the boundaries of knowledge. We look forward to welcoming you in Vienna in May 2025 for an unforgettable congress.”
